Volunteer

Our organization operates in part through the dedication of widespread volunteers who believe in our mission and willingly give their time and energy to help maximize the impact of the Bread Houses Network. Volunteers are entrusted with a variety of different work, and in the past we have had volunteers and interns working both in our main offices in Sofia and at the St. Christopher Bread House in Gabrovo.

One volunteer example is Rossi Anastopoulo, a college student in America who spent 8 weeks as an intern at the Bread House in Gabrovo. Her work encompassed day to day tasks and duties, such as helping with workshops, attending festivals throughout the country, working around the house, learning in the social enterprise bakery, and more, as well as more administrative tasks for the organization as a whole, which included website updates, grant research and proposals, fundraising campaigns, and more. If you are interested in her work or time spent volunteering, please feel free to email her at anastopo@live.unc.edu

If you are interested in volunteering, would like to know more information, or simply want to get involved with the Bread Houses Network in any way, please contact us. We would love to hear from you!

    Hello!

I just came across this wonderful, inspiring organization! I am an avid home baker who is in the process of learning to bake in a professional capacity. For the past 4 years, I have been working in Guatemala with a small NGO focused on teaching young Q’eqchi’ Maya women about cloud forest conservation, food security, family planning, etc. The NGO recently built an education center for these training programs, along with an oven to bake bread.

We are trying to grow the bread baking part of the program, and the way that the Bread House does this is an excellent model. My plan is to start raising money through the blog that I just started: LiveAndLetRise.com Do you have any advice or comments about how to make this project work?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Ian

    Hello,
I recently heard about your organization and would love to learn more and visit your kitchens. Would it be possible to bring a group of other expat women to participate in one of your bread sessions?
    thanks,
